Dr. Yair Rojman completed his veterinary degree in 2001 at the National University of Rosario in Argentina. He has spent the last 15 years working with all types of horses in North and South America. Growing up in Argentina, his love of horses came naturally with the rich horsemanship culture and tradition of his hometown. Following graduation, he practised at the local racetrack and surrounding horse farms. He then moved to Texas to work as an intern at Performance Equine Associates and afterwards completed two Equine Medicine and Surgery internships; one year in California at Chino Valley Equine Hospital and a second year in Florida at Reid & Associates. He has spent the past 10 years of his career working at equine hospitals in Alberta and Ontario. In 2015 Dr. Rojman has finally realized his dream of opening his own mobile equine veterinary practice in his current place of residence Guelph, Ontario. His main interests are in lameness, dentistry, endoscopy, general medicine/surgery, with strong emphasis on wound management. During his free time you will most likely find Dr. Rojman running for his life on his favorite elliptical machine at the local gym, or sunning himself at home on the back deck with a medieval history book (and Smoksie of course).

Dr. Rojman’s devoted wife Amy will graduate from the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program at the Ontario Veterinary College in 2017. She completed her Bachelor of Science with Honours in Zoology at the University of Guelph in 2008. Amy spent the years before her veterinary education working many interesting full and part time jobs including a reptile zoo educator, a presenter for Scientists in School and an airbrush tattoo artist at children's parties. She worked for the Bayview Animal Hospital in Toronto for nearly 3 years as a receptionist and veterinary assistant while completing another year of studies at the University of Toronto before her acceptance into the DVM program in 2013. Amy always knew that it was Yair's future to own his own practice and she dedicated her time to helping him bring his lifelong dream to fruition. She hopes to join her husband on the road this summer to continue to soak up his wealth of knowledge in her first year as a veterinarian. Although her schedule can get quite hectic, she is always in the background helping things run smoothly! In Amy’s free time you will likely find her in the kitchen trying a daring new Gordon Ramsay recipe, in her garden tending to her flowers and delicious home-grown veggies or out exploring the beautiful estuaries, lakes and landscapes that surround her beloved hometown of Guelph.

Smoksie is an integral member of the REMVS team, although she hangs back in our home office keeping a close eye on everything. She loves to camp out on the warm fax machine and ends up helping send faxes and reprint double (or sometimes triple…) copies. Smoksie is very aware when Yair or Amy require a break from working on the computer and assumes her position across the keyboard for some love. You are likely to find Smoksie snoozing in the most comfortable office chair keeping some paperwork warm or perhaps vomiting on the carpet directly adjacent to the laminate. However her favorite pastime is definitely rolling around and sunning herself outside on the back deck with Yair (or perhaps following Amy around everywhere she goes).
